International Human Rights Award "Emilio F. Mignone" Edition 2021

The Argentine Embassy in Denmark informs that the call to present candidatures for the International Human Rights Award "Emilio F. Mignone" Edition 2021 is now open.

Applications may be submitted until October 25, 2021

To submit a candidacy, the institution or person must complete a FORM found on the website of the Argentine Chancellery.

The award ceremony will be held on December 9 (the date that may be subject to modification) within the framework of Human Rights Day that is celebrated on December 10 in commemoration of the approval by the United Nations General Assembly of the Universal Declaration of Human Rights in 1948.

The Award will be presented at a ceremony presided over by the Minister of Foreign Affairs, International Trade and Worship, with authorities from the National Human Rights Secretariat, CELS and the Mignone family. Government authorities, members of human rights organizations, the diplomatic corps accredited in Argentina and the general public will participate in the ceremony.

The winner of the Prize will also receive a reproduction of a work of art by the Argentine plastic artist León Ferrari.

Depending on the pandemic situation, the Mignone 2021 Award will also include an invitation to the person or a representative of the awarded institution to visit the Argentine Republic for approximately one week. The Prize provides airfare from your place of residence in economy class, hotel and per diem.

During their visit to the city of Buenos Aires, the winner will have a schedule of meetings and activities with government institutions, human rights organizations, academic institutions, and the press. The winner's program will be agreed upon according to the specific theme to which it is dedicated.

Please note that if the ceremony is virtual due to the pandemic situation, the delivery of the León Ferrari reproduction delivery will also be effective when sanitary conditions allow it.
