The Argentine Embassy in Denmark celebrated the 10th anniversary of Tangospirer with a special milonga in Copenhagen

The Argentine Embassy in Denmark hosted a special milonga at the Residence of Ambassador Julio Mercado to mark the 10th anniversary of Tangospirer, a non-profit association dedicated to promoting tango among young people in Copenhagen.

For the past ten years, Tangospirer has been fostering the learning and dissemination of Argentine tango through a weekly milonga that offers free classes every Monday from 8 to 11 p.m. at the Kulturhus in Islands Brygge. The space is aimed primarily at beginner-level students aged 15 to 30 and regularly brings together more than 30 participants, contributing to the strengthening and growth of the tango scene among new generations in the Danish capital.

The Embassy expressed its special gratitude to Federico Crespo and Claus Springborg, members of Tangospirer’s board of directors and driving forces behind this celebration, for their continued commitment to promoting Argentine culture in Denmark.

The evening also featured the participation of Argentine gastronomic ventures Chimichurri, Migas, and Entremasas, which contributed traditional specialties such as empanadas, ham sandwiches (sánguches de miga), medialunas, and alfajores, bringing the flavors of Argentina closer to the guests.

The Embassy also extends its thanks to Argentine photographer Maximiliano Di Pietro, who warmly captured the most memorable moments of the evening.

The celebration reaffirmed the value of tango as a cultural bridge and a space for connection, as well as the commitment of the Argentine and Danish communities to promoting this emblematic expression of our cultural identity.
