As part of the 2026 edition of the Latin American Film Festival organized by Cinemateket, the Danish Film Institute, the Embassy of the Argentine Republic in Denmark attended the screening of the film Elder Son, directed by Argentine filmmaker Cecilia Kang, held on June 12.

The film addresses themes related to family memory, migration trajectories, and the construction of cultural identity, highlighting the dialogue between one’s roots and integration into new societies.

Prior to the screening, the event “Argentine Afternoon” took place at the Cinemateket bar, where the Embassy offered guests a glass of Argentine wine. A toast was also held with members of the Argentine community residing in Denmark, as well as Danish participants attending the event.

Before the start of the screening, Ambassador Julio Mercado addressed the audience, thanking attendees for their participation and highlighting the importance of initiatives such as the Latin American Film Festival in promoting Argentine culture abroad and strengthening cultural ties between Argentina and Denmark.
