Ambassador Julio Mercado participated in the conference on the International Holocaust Remembrance Alliance, held on 5 June 2026 as part of the Copenhagen Jewish Culture Festival 2026, at the Jewish House.

The Ambassador delivered the opening remarks of the event. On this occasion, Argentina’s Presidency of the International Holocaust Remembrance Alliance was presented, which our country holds throughout 2026. Likewise, the initiatives that the Argentine Foreign Ministry will promote were announced, aimed at safeguarding and facilitating access to archives related to the Holocaust and the Second World War, in line with Argentina’s international commitments regarding memory, truth, and the prevention of historical distortion.

Subsequently, the conference featured a presentation by Danish historian Otto Rühl, a member of the Danish delegation to the International Holocaust Remembrance Alliance, who outlined the organization’s main achievements and current challenges, highlighting the importance of international cooperation in preserving the memory of the Holocaust.
