The Embassy of the Argentine Republic in Denmark commemorated the 216th anniversary of the May Revolution with a reception that brought together members of the Argentine community residing in Denmark, representatives of the diplomatic corps, government authorities, business leaders, and friends of Argentina.

This year's celebration held special significance as it coincided with the 185th anniversary of the establishment of diplomatic relations between the Argentine Republic and the Kingdom of Denmark, providing an opportunity to highlight the historic bonds of friendship and cooperation that unite both countries.

A variety of cultural and recreational activities took place throughout the event. Younger guests enjoyed activities organized by Cervantitos, while music played a central role through performances by the Argentine folk music group Munay and a rendition of the Argentine National Anthem by Pamela Ayala.

The artist Alejandro Di Rosa also presented a live demonstration of filete porteño, the traditional decorative art form of Buenos Aires, and donated a special artwork to the Embassy for the occasion. Photographic coverage of the event was provided by Danila Creative Studio.

Guests were also able to enjoy a selection of Argentine gastronomic products presented by businesses that collaborated with the celebration: Jacarandá, Kafe Dronningens, La Bristol, Lunfardo, Migas, Norte Argentino, Re Argentina, Tango Olive Oils, and Velvet Berries.

In addition, two LEGO sets featuring Lionel Messi were displayed during the event. The sets were donated for the occasion by the company through its Director of Government and Public Affairs, Carolina Giuga.

It is also worth noting that, as part of the commemoration of the 216th anniversary of the May Revolution, musicians of the Royal Danish Guard performed the Marcha de San Lorenzo during the Changing of the Guard ceremony at Fredensborg Palace—the current residence of the Danish monarchs—on 22 May, thereby inaugurating Argentina’s national celebrations in Denmark.
